Wilkes-Barre LaunchBox is excited to partner with Wilkes-Barre Connect, the entrepreneurial and economic development arm of the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce, to offer additional resources to our entrepreneurs! Partnering with Wilkes-Barre Connect allows us to leverage the network to align innovation, strategies, and resources that meet the business community's needs. Located in the Think Center, in downtown Wilkes-Barre, students and community members can participate in additional events and programs offered by economic development partners in the region.

Spotlight Speaker Series

Our most recent Spotlight event titled; "Unconventional Journeys in Entrepreneurship" featured speaker was Joe Boylan, Executive Sponsor at Throughline! Other Spotlight Speakers included Joshua Mason, Founder & Owner of Fame Strength, Jasmyne Morgans, Brand & Marketing Manager at Grassroots Development and Manager & Director of Marketing at NEPA’rogi, and Jennifer Micciche, Founder of Designs By Olivia Grey. The Spotlight program features quarterly events that provide an opportunity for industry leaders and entrepreneurs in NEPA to meet, discuss and identify potential partnerships. Each event features a fifteen-minute presentation from an entrepreneur with regional ties, as well as shorter spotlights featuring local entrepreneurs, students, and non-profits. Spotlight is a Wilkes-Barre Connect program coordinated by the Diamond City Partnership and sponsored by Penn State Wilkes-Barre, through the Invent Penn State initiative. This special edition of Spotlight is being held on the campus of Penn State Wilkes-Barre (Nesbitt Academic Commons, 44 University Drive, Dallas, PA 18612) in conjunction with Penn State Startup Week. This event is FREE and open to anyone, we just ask that you submit a free registration for refreshment-count purposes. The Wilkes-Barre Connect program helps businesses grow in NEPA. Powered by the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Business & Industry, Connect features partnerships among the Small Business Development Center at Wilkes University, the Diamond City Partnership, the Institute for Public Policy & Economic Development at Wilkes University, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and the Family Business Alliance at Wilkes University.
